In 1938, Alphonse Merle repurchase the Maison Forte
« Huîtres et Coquillages » to settle into the Halles des Cordeliers. With the help of his son Alain, Oyster seller France Champion in 1971, he makes the Maison Merle the reference in Lyon for tasting oysters. In 2005, Alain Merle divests his house to the Lameloise family, owner of the famous Brasserie Georges. Today, the manager, his oyster chef and their team continue this beautiful story with passion and talent.
